Xplode Athletics Adds New Program Coordinator for Football
12.Feb.2010 |
Robbie Felix has been named the new Program Coordinator for Football at Xplode Athletics. Felix, former standout UTEP Miner and current Center for the Las Vegas Locomotive’s in the UFL (United Football League), is a familiar face to Xplode Athletics. During the summer of 2008, Felix served as an assistant coach for Xplode Athletics, as he himself prepared for his senior season. At UTEP, Felix was a first team All-Conference USA honoree in 2008, an honorable mention selection in 2007, and a third team choice in 2006. He was appointed an honorable mention Freshman All-America by The Sporting News in 2005.
After a productive career with the Miners, Felix was invited to the NFL Combine, where he tested toward the top of his position in several categories. He eventually signed as an Undrafted Free Agent with the Baltimore Ravens, but was ultimately waived as part of the Final Roster Cutdowns. Felix continues to pursue his dreams of playing in the NFL, and is currently the starting center for the Las Vegas Loco’s of the UFL.
Felix takes over a new position with Xplode Athletics that complements his experiences and passion. Felix will look to expand Xplode Athletics football services, by providing athletes with new and exciting football-specific programs conducted at Xplode Athletics “Athlete Development Center” (Information Coming Soon!). Felix will also coordinate existing programs, such as the “EP Gridiron Challenge” and the “High School Summer Strength and Conditioning Team Program”.
“I am really excited to have Robby back as part of Xplode Athletics. Robby brings to the table a strong work-ethic, a great attitude, and elite-level football experiences that many of our athletes can now tap into. With the launch of our new ‘Athlete Development Center’, Robby’s addition is just another step towards our goal of providing the ultimate training experience for our athletes.” - Stephen Wegner, Director; Xplode Athletics
