The Fighting Irish participated in our 8 Week Summer Strength and Conditioning Program and their hard work has paid off with a trip to the TAPPS State Playoffs!
After last year's 1-9 record, the Irish committed themselves to getting better, and part of that included participating in our summer training program. Xplode Athletics was fortunate enough to get to work with this hungry group of athletes that were ready to work hard to be successful. Monday through Thursday, the Fighting Irish took part in our two hour/day work-outs that included speed, agility, plyometrics, lifting, core development, and injury prevention to get stronger and more explosive. After sprinting, cutting, jumping, squatting, deadlifting, and doing olympic lifts all summer, the team was rewarded with 38.29% increase in their team SPARQ Rating, a 7-3 regular season record, and a win in the first round of the state playoffs!!
Here are the biggest individual statistical gains from this summer:
VERTICAL JUMP (Inches) - From 18.2 to 25.3 (+39%). That's a 7.1 inch gain in 8 weeks!
40 YARD DASH (Secs) - OLine 7.48 to 6.4 (-14.44%); Skill Position 5.34 to 4.96 (-7.12%)
PROAGILITY/5-10-5 SHUTTLE (Secs) - From 4.81 to 4.41 (-8.32%)
KNEELING POWERBALL TOSS (Feet) - Biggest % increase was +43.17% with a throw of 23.05 to 33 feet! The longest throw was from 33.11 to an impressive 40 feet (+20.81%)
SPARQ RATING - 37.62 to 63.36, a whopping +68.42%
